A Cessna 750 Citation X business jet operated by A Jet Excellence ran off the runway at Telluride Regional Airport in the U.S. state of Colorado. All three people on board the aircraft, registered as N772XJ, escaped without injury, though the jet sustained significant damage.
According to information provided by authorities, the incident occurred shortly after landing. The pilot stated that a strong and sudden crosswind immediately after touchdown pushed the aircraft off the runway. After the crew lost control, the jet slid approximately 300 yards beyond the runway before coming to a stop.
It was reported that the landing gear collapsed during the slide, rendering the aircraft inoperable. Security measures were implemented at the airport following the incident, and an investigation into the accident has been launched.
